Parent and Baby Class Birthlight
A class for young children and you to learn about water and how to introduce children to swimming.
Tiddlers
Badges: Ducklings 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Puffin, 5m
A class for beginners, children will gain their first stages of water confidence and floating positions. Swimming strokes will also be introduced.
Tadpoles
Badges: Water Skills 1 and 2, 10m, 20m, 25m, 50m
A class for children who have just started to swim. Water confidence and swimming strokes and breathing will be strengthened.
Terrapins
Badges: Water Skills 3, 50m, 75m, 100m, 200m
A class where swimming stroke technique will be emphasized. Children can learn Treading water and Stamina Swimming.
Turtles
Badges: Water Skills 4, 200m, 400m, 600m
Swimming underwater, tumble turns and survival swimming will be introduced. Swimming strokes will be improved.
Salmons
Badges: Water Skills 5, Personal Survival 1, 800m Long Distance Accumulative Award, Diving Level 1
Swimming stamina and personal survival will be started in this class. Distance swimming will also be undertaken.
Dolphins
Badges: Water Skills 6, 1000m, Personal Survival 2, Bronze Challenge, Level 2 National Curriculum Awards
Advanced water skills, personal survival and distance swimming will be improved and enhanced during in this class.
Beavers
Badges: Silver Challenge, 1500m, Preliminary Diving Badge Bronze, Silver and Gold Speed Awards and More
A class to improve the technique of all four swimming strokes and advanced water techniques.
Otters
Badges: Gold and Honors Challenge, Lifesaving Awards and More
For children with excellent swimming ability, who would like to take their swimming to the top awards such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Honours and the Complete Swimmer award.
